A woman who impersonated a police officer searching for a sex offender left an Old West End home after the resident asked for identification.
The resident of the 2000 block of Glenwood Avenue answered her door about 9:30 a.m. Saturday and the woman told her she thought the wanted man was inside, and that she needed to search the home, police said.
The resident was suspicious and asked for identification. The suspect showed a badge but had no other identification. The resident refused to allow the suspect inside. The suspect returned to her car and drove off with a man, police said.
