A Sylvania Township man faces multiple charges after he allegedly fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash that injured two people in Lake Township.
Paul Korzec, 33, was charged with vehicular assault, inducing panic, leaving the scene, reckless operation, and driving with a suspended license, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Toledoans Carlos Lopez, 25, of 2241 Cheyenne Blvd., Apt. 29, and his passenger, Nicole Marko, 26, of 1524 Twin Oaks Drive, were taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where they were in fair condition yesterday, a hospital spokesman said.
Troopers said Mr. Lopez was driving west on State Rt. 795 just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when his vehicle was hit by an SUV traveling south on Pemberville Road that failed to yield at a stop sign. The impact knocked both cars into a ditch.
