Trucker cited in crash on Hancock County highway
ADA, Ohio A truck driver whose rig flipped over yesterday, sending 41,000 pounds of pork down an embankment, was cited for driving a commercial vehicle with impaired alertness, according to the Hancock County Sheriff s Office.
Gerald Price, 45, of Radcliff, Iowa, was treated at Lima Memorial Hospital after the crash, which occurred just after 2 a.m.
Mr. Price was exiting U.S. 30 at State Rt. 235 when his truck went off the south side of the road and struck a traffic sign. The rig continued a short distance, then overturned onto its side. Mr. Price told deputies he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
