Deputy in off-duty attack gets 3-day suspension

A Lucas County sheriff s deputy received a three-day suspension after authorities said he didn t report an off-duty assault of a West Toledo man by three county jail corrections officers.

Deputy Pat Holzemer received the suspension without pay after an administrative hearing on the charges of instant action and withholding evidence/information for not reporting the incident, sheriff s officials said.

The deputy supposedly stayed in his vehicle outside the Foth Drive residence where the assault occurred while the others including his brother, Timothy Holzemer, 26 went inside and beat Jorge Hernandez Rodriguez, 25.

Pat Holzemer was not charged criminally. His brother and the two other corrections officers Brian Wise, 23, and Matthew Wise, 25, who are brothers face aggravated burglary and felonious assault charges in the Oct. 8 attack. Timothy Holzemer and the Wise brothers were terminated from the sheriff s office two weeks ago after administrative hearings.
