Fremont man charged with raping girl, 17

A 29-year-old Fremont man was being held in the Wood County jail last night in lieu of $100,000 bond after he was charged Saturday with the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Millbury, authorities said.

Joseph T. Taguba has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday in Perrysburg Municipal Court.

Mr. Taguba is accused of raping the girl, who also is from Fremont, about 4 a.m. Saturday while they were at a mutual friend's home in Millbury, Lake Township police Chief Mark Hummer said.

Mr. Taguba was arrested later that day after the teenager went to Fremont Memorial Hospital and a police report was filed, the chief said.
