Two people were arrested last night after a fight in the food court at Westfield Franklin Park that sent one person to the hospital.
Dereck Minley, 18, was taken to Toledo Hospital for treatment of a gash on his forehead he suffered when a table was thrown at him, authorities said. A hospital spokesman said he was in the emergency room last night and she could not give a condition.
Keith Hackett, 15, was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
Both were charged with felonious assault; aggravated riot charges are pending, police said.
Police were called to a large fight in the food court in the mall, 5001 Monroe St., just after 8 p.m.
Multiple tables and chairs were thrown during the altercation in the crowded food court, but an off-duty police officer and mall security were able to get the fight mostly under control, police said.
An area of the food court near the Chick-Fil-A restaurant was blocked off for part of the evening following the fight.
