An inmate at the Northwest Community Corrections Center who escaped from the Wood County Hospital on Tuesday was caught last night in central Toledo, authorities said.
Michael David Hill, Jr., 23, of Napoleon, fled a car when police attempted a traffic stop near Cherry and Rockingham streets about 9 p.m. He was caught minutes later in the 100 block of Rockingham, police said.
Hill, who was charged in Bowling Green with escape, had been at large since he went outside the hospital to smoke a cigarette about 10 p.m. Tuesday. He had been undergoing treatment for stomach problems.
Toledo police charged him with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. He was convicted of felony theft in Henry County.
