A 13-year-old boy was charged in Lucas County Juvenile Court with delinquency in connection with aggravated arson after being accused of setting fire to a two-story house in North Toledo yesterday that later had to be torn town, authorities said.
The youth entered the house at 915 Sherman St., vandalized the structure, and then set fire to it using an accelerant, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived about 2:30 a.m. and found fires burning in the kitchen and the dining room. No one was home at the time, authorities said.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze but returned about two later to once again extinguish flames.
Authorities were unsure how the second fire started.
