Two people were shot in East Toledo today in what police are calling a drug-related incident.
Police responded to an apartment at 418 Greenwood Ave. about 1:20 p.m. and found Carlos Hicks, 29, whose address was unavailable, outside.
Mr. Hicks told police Calvin Weaver, 28, whose address was unavailable, pulled a gun on him in an apparent robbery attempt, police said.
The two were struggling over the gun when Mr. Hicks was shot in the hand. Mr. Hicks then took the gun and shot Mr. Weaver, police said.
Both were taken to St. Vincent s Mercy Medical Center. A hospital nursing supervisor did not know Mr. Hicks condition and said Mr. Weaver was not a patient at the hospital.
