Neighbor, 85, accused of killing family s cat

A South Toledo man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly shot and killed his neighbor s cat outside his home.

Ray Castle, 85, of 318 Edna St. shot the animal with a rifle at about 2:30 p.m. after allegedly mistaking it for a raccoon, police said.

Police confiscated the weapon and arrested Mr. Castle for shooting a firearm within the city limits.

Pam Akers, the cat s owner, said the cat was given to her by Mr. Castle when it was about a year old.
