Illegal sales of alcohol alleged at 3 businesses

Employees of three Maumee businesses have been charged with underage sales after they were accused of selling alcohol to minors Friday during a Maumee police sting at 14 businesses, authorities said.

The number of employees and their names were not released.

Police said the illegal sale of alcohol to underage persons took place at a Firebird gas station at 1289 Conant St., a Speedway gas station at 502 Conant St., and at Barney s East at 497 West Dussel Drive.

Alcohol was sold to individuals under 21 accompanied by police officers. Police released no further information yesterday.
