Smoke from field fire in Hancock County closes I-75 south lane
FINDLAY - Wind carried flames from burning trash to a nearby corn field just north of here yesterday, burning 20 acres of corn stubble before it was brought under control, Allen Township Fire Chief Gary Hickman said.
Southbound traffic on I-75 near Hancock County Road 99 was restricted to one lane for a half-hour because of the smoke, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Chief Hickman said a neighbor was burning trash and the wind blew it and caught the corn stubble on fire.
