Toledo police have issued a warning about and are looking for suspects believed to be involved in a scheme to cash counterfeit checks from Liberty Tax Service.
Police believe several people have been or will drive to Toledo from Detroit to attempt to cash fake checks. One of the names being used is Deondra Armstead, which is not the suspect's real name.
The suspects are applying for and receiving official Ohio identification cards, which are used during the transactions, police said.
