Former BGSU football captain arrested

A former Bowling Green State University football captain was arrested Monday night in Botkins, Ohio for drug trafficking and possession after police seized two kilos of suspected cocaine from a vehicle driven by him. Botkins is 80 miles south of Bowling Green.

Berea native Loren Hargrove, 23, a Falcon linebacker who graduated from BG in December, is being held in Shelby County Jail on $100,000 bond. Also arrested on the same charges was Melvin Cole, who at one time was a BGSU football player.

Authorities estimate the two kilos of cocaine has a street value of $200,000.
