A Northwood man was stabbed several times in the face, neck, and upper back yesterday during a fight with another man in West Toledo, police said.
Greg Sternberg, 30, was taken to St. Anne Mercy Hospital and later transferred to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was in fair condition.
While in a car with a group of friends, Mr. Sternberg began arguing with a man about 1 a.m. Mr. Sternberg and the man got out of the vehicle when it was stopped at West Sylvania and Phillips avenues, police said.
While the two were fighting, Mr. Sternberg told police, he felt a pain in his neck and noticed he was bleeding. Hospital officials reported that Mr. Sternberg had been stabbed five times.
Police said Mr. Sternberg was uncooperative and would not provide information about his assailant.
