Toledo police were looking for two men accused of shooting another man in the back, abdomen, and the right hand early Wednesday outside a North Toledo bar.

Demetrius Wallace, 35, the shooting victim, was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo police said.

Officers identified one of the attackers as Xavier Tate, 24, of 2326 Elm St. Police did not identify the second attacker who was described as a skinny black man in his 20s, about six feet tall, with braided hair, who was wearing a light colored shirt.

The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. outside the Lion s Den bar, 2814 Lagrange St., police said.

Witnesses told police two men who were involved in a fight with the victim a couple of days before came to the bar looking for him. The victim arrived a short time later and a fight between him and the other men ensued, at which time gunshots were heard, police said.

The attackers then fled, leaving the victim behind. One of the witnesses later took him to the hospital, police said.
