Tips sought in woman's death

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about the death of a woman found strangled June 26 in a shed behind a building near the Southwyck Shopping Center, authorities said.

Debra Pioterek, 57, who was homeless, was found about 8 p.m. covered with a blanket and lying on her side in a shed behind a business at 5225 Southwyck Blvd., near Reynolds Road.

A local artist who was considering renting the building found her.

The body was surrounded by bags of women's clothing and personal paperwork.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stopper.

Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
