A 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday after assaulting two Toledo police officers, police said.
Justin Sherman of 3628 East Point Drive was charged with two counts of assault and one count each of aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and possession of drug paraphernalia, sheriff s deputies at the Lucas County jail said.
Mr. Sherman is accused of almost hitting a police vehicle while driving near Hill Avenue and Richards Road. When the two officers in the vehicle, both off-duty, approached him and identified themselves, he assaulted them, according to the report.
Drug paraphernalia was found in his car after the arrest, according to police. He remained in the Lucas County jail last night, held without bond.
