Mich. police: Death is an apparent homicide

CARLETON, Mich. — Michigan State Police Friday identified the Ash Township man whose death is being investigated as an apparent homicide, authorities said.

Randy Pittman, 51, was found deceased at his residence when family members went there to check on him after failing to reach him on the phone throughout the day Thursday, according to Michigan State Police.

Upon their arrival at the residence, police investigators from the Monroe post discovered signs of trauma on the body, got a search warrant for the residence, and executed it. They then announced that they were investigating the death as a homicide.
