A man was shot Monday night in a parking lot at an apartment complex in North Toledo, authorities said.
The victim, who was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, was being chased by a man in a red shirt, witnesses said. The suspect was with more than a dozen teenagers at the time.
Police said the victim was shot in the foot about 7 p.m. at the complex at Cherry Street and Michigan Avenue.
Nicholas Elkington, 30, of South Toledo, said he was visiting a friend when he spotted a man with a gun.
“All I heard was pop, pop, pop. I was scared, man. I panicked,” the witness said. “It really shook me up.”
