Shooting death in April officially ruled a homicide


The Lucas County coroner has officially ruled the April 13 shooting death of a 71-year-old Toledo man to have been a homicide.

Charles Harris, Jr., known to many as "Chuck A Luck," was shot twice in the head in an alley near Nebraska Avenue outside the garage where he stored his lawn-care equipment. Authorities believe robbery was the motive.

Two Toledo men, Kenneth Anderson, 29, of 917 Forest Ave., and Thomas Johnson, 21, of 3265 Glenwood Ave., were indicted April 21 by a Lucas County grand jury. Each is charged with aggravated murder, murder, and aggravated robbery. All counts contain a gun specification. Johnson also was charged with tampering with evidence.
