5 hurt in Putnam County crash


VAUGHNSVILLE, Ohio — Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday night at State Rts. 115 and 12 in the community of Vaughnsville in Putnam County’s Sugar Creek Township, sheriff’s deputies said.

The crash was reported just before 6:25 p.m.

All those injured were taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. Deputies did not release their names or conditions.

The Kalida, Ohio, fire department, including the heavy rescue and emergency medical units, were dispatched. Also called to the scene were Columbus Grove, Ohio, and Cairo, Ohio, emergency medical units.

Deputies are investigating and have not provided details of what happened.

Vaughnsville is about 65 miles southwest of Toledo.
