Santiago sworn in as fire chief
The Toledo Fire and Rescue Department has a new chief.
Luis Santiago, former assistant fire chief, was sworn in as fire chief Saturday morning at in Chub de Wolfe Park, Toledo in front of Michael P. Bell Administrative Building, 545 N. Huron.
Chief Santiago succeeds Chief Mike Wolever who retired Friday after 33 years of service to the City of Toledo.
Chief Santiago was hired by the city in 1984 and is the department's first Hispanic leader.
Toledo mayor and former fire chief Mike Bell was in attendance.
