MONROE — A Michigan man was killed and two men were injured when a pickup truck and a car collided late Saturday on I-75 in Monroe County’s Berlin Township.
Cole Bruno Jr., 58, of Trenton, Mich., driver of the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
His son Cole Bruno III, 28, also of Trenton, a passenger in the truck, and Terrence Collins, 28, of Adrian, the driver of the car, were in fair condition in Oakwood Southshore Medical Center, Trenton, a hospital spokesman said Sunday.
The elder Mr. Bruno was driving north on I-75 north of Newport Road about 11:45 p.m. when the Collins car, which was also northbound on the expressway, struck the Bruno pickup in the rear. The two vehicles then went off the left side of the road and overturned. Before overturning, the truck had struck the median guardrail, according to the sheriff’s office.
