Tips sought in jewelry store robbery

Toledo police are looking for information on the robbery of a West Toledo jewelry store.

Safari Gems, 4334 Monroe St., was robbed by a masked, armed gunman on July 8 around 1:15 p.m.

Police describe the gunman as a white man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, and weighing about 120 pounds. He was wearing blue sweatpants, black and red gloves, and a hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.

When he entered the store, he told the three people inside — including a young girl — to get on the floor. The gunman took an undetermined amount of cash from a register and fled out the back of the store.
