Police investigate multi-vehicle accident in Sylvania Twp.

Police were investigating a multi-vehicle accident in Sylvania Township Tuesday night that sent five people to area hospitals.

Authorities did not yet have a lot of details of the incident, which took place about 8:10 p.m. in Sylvania Township at Central Avenue and Redington Road, south of Wildwood Preserve Metropark.

It was reported that two to three vehicles were involved, however police at the scene shortly after 9 p.m. were still determining the exact number, a Sylvania Township dispatcher said. One of the vehicles was said to have fled the scene. A description of that vehicle has not yet been released.

The dispatcher said the individuals who were injured were transported to various hospitals.
