Reward offered for help finding Bedford Township bank robber

BLADE STAFF

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Friday offered a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible for robbing three banks in Bedford Township.

Bank of America, 7405 Lewis Ave., was robbed on Feb. 19; Monroe Bank & Trust, 6560 Lewis Ave., was robbed on May 20, and Citizen’s Bank, 7548 Lewis Ave., was robbed on May 23.

Authorities said the same person robbed all three banks. He was described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. The robber fled the banks with undisclosed amounts of money. In each incident, the robber used a different getaway vehicle.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the three robberies. Contact Detective Jeff Pauli of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 734-240-7745 with information.
