Toledo police are asking the public's help in finding the person responsible for shooting a North Toledo man outside his Spring Street home this week.
Kyle Mayes, 29, of St. John Avenue was shot more than once Wednesday while standing on a front-yard wheelchair ramp at a home in the 600 block of Spring Street, police said.
Mr. Mayes was found lying on the ground by the sidewalk, suffering from at least two gunshot wounds, one in the arm and the other in the armpit, officers said.
He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where a hospital spokesman Friday said she had no information about a person by that name.
Witnesses told police that just after 1 p.m. the gunman ran by Mr. Mayes, started shooting, and kept running.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
