Fire damages Rudy's Hot Dog
An electric sign at Rudy's Hot Dog in west Toledo caught fire overnight, causing damage to the iconic eatery where President Barack Obama visited this summer.
Crews responded to the call about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the eatery at 946 West Sylvania Ave. and extinguished the fire by 1:26 a.m. Friday, according to the Toledo Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is apparently electrical in nature, the department reported. Cost of damages are being estimated.
The location is open for business Friday morning, according to an employee.
Details will be published as they become available.
