Fire guts Jerusalem Twp. home
CURTICE, Ohio — A fire of a yet unknown origin destroyed an unoccupied house in Lucas County’s Jerusalem Township near this Ottawa County village overnight, causing heat damage to two adjacent homes, authorities said Tuesday morning.
There were no injuries, according to the Jerusalem Township fire department.
The fire at 11950 Corduroy Road was reported about 11 p.m. Monday. Area fire crews extinguished the blaze early in the morning, by which time the single-story wood frame house was a total loss. Fire crews were still on the scene at 8 a.m. to monitor hot spots, a fire dispatcher said.
The fire damage was unavailable. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
The Lucas County Auditor’s Web site lists Rose Siegler as the owner of the house. It was built in 1925.
Curtice is about eight miles southeast of Toledo.
