Carryout's robber is shot at by employee
Toledo police are investigating the robbery Tuesday of a carryout in which a store employee reportedly shot at the robber.
The robbery was reported about 9:15 p.m. at Westwood Carryout, 2620 Airport Hwy.
The suspect escaped with cash, but not before being fired at. It was unclear where the shots were fired, Police say the robber was armed with a black 9 mm handgun or a pistol. The store clerk told police that the robbery suspect was not struck.
A video released by Toledo police Wednesday shows the suspect entering the store with a gun and taking cash from the clerk. It does not show any shots being fired.
The suspect was described by police as short, black, and male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white T-shirt underneath; black or gray pants, and white shoes.
On Nov. 21, a clerk at the Express Carryout, 1920 Mulberry St., in an exchange of gunfire, shot and killed Lamar Allen, 25, after police said Allen and another man came into the store and began emptying the cash register. At least one of the robbery suspects was armed. The other suspect ran away and has not been apprehended.
