Trooper promoted, moved to Van Wert post

VAN WERT, Ohio — The Van Wert Post of the Highway State Patrol will soon get a new command officer.

Trooper Timothy Grigsby was promoted to sergeant Friday during a ceremony in Columbus. He will transfer to Van Wert from the Lima post, where he was first assigned in 2006.

While in Lima, Sergeant Grigsby was named the post trooper of the year in 2009 and 2010. He also earned the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement in 2007 and 2009.

The sergeant lives in Columbus Grove with his wife, Michele, and their three children — Justin, 20, Haley, 16, and Emily, 5.
