Two teens injured in Henry Co. collision

RIDGEVILLE CORNERS, Ohio — Two teenagers were seriously injured Wednesday when their car and an oncoming pickup collided on State Rt. 66 and Henry County Road U in Ridgeville Township.

Henry County sheriff’s deputies said Agustin Delgado, 17, of Wauseon was northbound on Route 66 about 3:10 p.m. when to avoid traffic stopped ahead at Road U, he drove left of center, striking head-on the southbound pickup driven by Michael Hartsell, 48, of Grand Rapids.

Young Delgado and his passenger, Chelsea Hartman, 17, of Wauseon had to be extricated from their car. They were taken by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Young Delgado was in serious condition. Young Hartman was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit, but a condition was not available.

Mr. Hartsell was taken to Archbold Hospital. His condition was not available.

No citations had been issued Wednesday night.

Ridgeville Township is about 40 miles southwest of Toledo.
