Woman is sought in Toledo bank heist

Police are looking for a woman who robbed a West Toledo bank Thursday.

Police said officers were sent to Charter One bank, 3230 W. Alexis Rd., after a reported robbery about 9:08 a.m.

The woman handed a note to a teller demanding money, received an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled, police said.

Police describe the woman as white, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and in her late 20s.

She was wearing a multicolored knitted hat and a heavy coat.

She last was seen fleeing north on Gay Street in a green older-model Ford Taurus that had a white decal on the rear window and the rear license plate covered.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper Program and might be eligible for a reward.
