Two men have been arrested in the shooting of three men and three women outside Mugshots in North Toledo early Monday, Toledo police Sgt. Eric Whitman said.
Injured were Fenton Cosper, 21, Caprice Walker, 22, Jeffery McCloud, 31, Destiny Gordon, 18, Shandon Groom, 19, and Lakeisha Carter, 26. The extent of their injuries was unknown.
Police said they arrested Rhaymoun Villolovos, 20, and Richard Villolovos, 22, both of 3460 Rock Ct., and charged each of them with six counts of felonious assault. The two men were arrested at the hospital shortly after the shooting after they went there to check on “one of their own” who was shot in the incident.
Sergeant Whitman said all of the individuals shot had been kicked out of the bar, 1001 N. Summit St., in the Vistula Historic District. Police said it appears the shootings may have been a gang-related incident, but the investigation is ongoing.
The emergency room at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center was closed as a result of the incident, police said.
Police removed shortly after 2 a.m. crime-scene tape that had closed the intersection of Summit and Lagrange streets. A massive crime scene was being investigated, stretching from Lagrange and Summit to Ostrich Lane behind the bar.
Multiple gunshots were heard about 12:30 a.m. Monday outside the bar, which was thought to be crowded for the Super Bowl, according to police.
“It was mad chaos,” Toledo police Officer J.T. Noonan said.
