Lindsey fire cause ruled undetermined
LINDSEY, Ohio -- Officials with the state fire marshal's office Wednesday ruled the cause of a fire in a mobile home in the Sandusky County village of Lindsey undetermined.
Jared Marker, 34, suffered serious burns and was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, where he was in critical condition Wednesday. Suffering smoke inhalation were Leola Charles, 33, who was taken to Physician's Choice Hospital in Fremont, along with Alannah Charles, 13; Adrian Williams, 11, and Alexander Marker, 4. All were treated and released.
The fire was reported at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Apollo Mobile Home Park residence on State Rt. 523. Investigators said they found no evidence of criminal intent. The fire, which razed the home, began in the living room at or near an electric space heater; a definite cause couldn't be determined, fire officials said.
Activation of smoke alarms there was unknown, said state and Lindsey Fire Department investigators.
