Teen killed in collision with snowplow, 1 injured
A Toledo teenager was killed and another teen injured when their pickup truck collided with a snowplow just after 2 p.m. Saturday on southbound State Rt. 25 at Reitz Road in Perrysburg Township, troopers at the Bowling Green post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Christian Kellerbauer, 18, of Toledo was driving south on Route 25 when he struck a Perrysburg Township snowplow operated by Marvin D. Conner, 47, of Pemberville.
The plow truck was stopped in the southbound median and was attempting to turn west on Reitz when it was struck by Mr. Kellerbauer’s pickup truck.
Mr. Kellerbauer and his passenger, Olivia Renee Waller, 18, of Toledo, were trapped inside their vehicle. Neither was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
Ms. Waller was pronounced dead by a Perrysburg Township paramedic and Mr. Kellerbauer was flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where he was in serious condition.
Mr. Conner, the snowplow driver was not injured. The highway’s southbound lanes were closed for several hours.
