2 injured in Richfield Twp. crash

Two people were injured Sunday morning when their car collided with a sport utility vehicle at Kilburn and Brint roads in Lucas County’s Richfield Township.

Eric Berg, 16, of Toledo was flown by air ambulance to Toledo Hospital where he was in fair condition. Shane Oneail, 16, of Toledo was treated at Toledo Hospital.

According to troopers at the Toledo post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Mr. Oneail was southbound on Kilburn Road at 9:55 a.m. when he pulled out in front of a Jeep Cherokee driven by James Glaze, 19, of Toledo that was eastbound on Brint. The Jeep struck his car on the passenger side where Mr. Berg was seated.

Mr. Oneail, who was cited for failure to yield, told troopers he had stopped at the stop sign but pulled out thinking the intersection was a four-way stop. Both Mr. Glaze and a passenger, Ashley Breakfield, 18, of Berkey, declined treatment.
