Authorities say the deaths of two men whose bodies were found Wednesday afternoon in separate rooms in a Perrysburg motel appear to be unrelated, and that no foul play is suspected in either.

Police were called to the Econo Lodge, 10667 Fremont Pike, to check on the welfare of a man staying in one of the rooms. Upon their arrival, authorities entered the room and found the man dead, said Sgt. Patrick McGuire of the Perrysburg Police Department. While they were there, motel employees asked them to check on the welfare of a second man, described as homeless, who frequently stayed there, and also found him dead, Sergeant McGuire said.

The identifies of the men are being withheld pending notification of family members.

Sgt. McGuire said foul play is not suspected. Authorities did not speculate further on possible causes of death, saying the bodies were transported to the Wood County Coroner for autopsies.

Econo Lodge employees have declined comment.
