Police group loses donor list; asks help with drive

For someone who wasn't savvy about computers, Ron Chamberlain couldn't really explain how the computer database just disappeared. The names were there, then in February, they were gone.

For the past year, the Toledo Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 40 had collected the names and phone numbers of people who donated yearly to the group's fund-raisers.

Now the FOP planned to reach out to donors again, but, "We don't know who helped us out or how much," said Mr. Chamberlain, a member of the FOP and an office manager at the lodge.

Unable to contact previous donors -- a number which was likely in the thousands -- Mr. Chamberlain asked that anyone interested in buying $25 for a vehicle decal or donating money should call the lodge at 419-578-7800.

The FOP sponsors three projects: buying Easter baskets for children and seniors, buying school supplies, and giving Christmas presents to underprivileged youth.
