Police look for 3 in wallet theft at eatery

BLADE STAFF

Police are searching for three people in the theft of a wallet from a customer at Panera Bread in Perrysburg on April 5.

A 47-year-old Whitehouse woman was eating at a table at the Perrysburg restaurant when someone apparently took her wallet out of her purse when she was not looking, Perrysburg Detective Sgt. Mark Baumgardner said. Within an hour, charges began appearing on her account at Toledo stores. The sergeant declined to identify the stores.

Police got surveillance footage of two women and one man using the credit cards and driving a burgundy Toyota minivan. Panera Bread footage also showed the three entering the restaurant, but did not capture the crime taking place.

Anyone with information is asked to call Perrysburg police at 419-872-8001.
