South Toledo house fire is deemed arson

A fire that burned a South Toledo home Wednesday morning was considered arson, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at 764 Prouty Ave., near Bowman Street, about 9:33 a.m.

Additional information was not available Wednesday because fire investigators had not yet completed their report.

The two-story house is a vacant property owned by Franklin Management Group of Toledo, according to Lucas County Auditor records. The property is valued at $67,500.

A damage estimate was not available.
