Driver faces charge of child endangering
Police are accusing a Toledo woman of trying to run down her daughter's father while the 2-month-old was unrestrained in the woman's car. Kristie Trumble, 25, of 170 Gibbons St., was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Monday on one count of child endangering. Ms. Trumble, who pleaded not guilty, was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.
According to court documents, Ms. Trumble was driving east on Airport Highway near Byrne Road on Friday, "purposely" trying to run down Grover Lowe, the father of the girl, while he drove his motorcycle east on Airport.
Police said the suspect hit several vehicles but didn't stop as she pursued Mr. Lowe. When police stopped Ms. Trumble they found her 2-month-old daughter in the back seat unrestrained, court documents show. It's unknown if the suspect will face more charges, Toledo police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said.
