Worker injured after being trapped at Northwood plant

A worker was injured at an auto components plant in Northwood this morning, authorities said.

The victim, whose name wasn’t released, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with unknown injuries, according to Northwood police.

Emergency crews responding to a report of a person trapped at a Norplas Industries, Inc. plant at 7825 Caple Blvd. arrived about 4:11 a.m. and found the victim trapped between a rack and a forklift, a police and fire dispatcher said.

About 4:44 a.m., the victim was extricated and transported to the hospital, the dispatcher said.

Norplas Industries, a division of a Canadian-owned company, makes injection-molded components for Chrysler Group LLC and others.
