Troopers arrest man on I-75 on drug charges

RAWSON, Ohio — A flat tire on the car of a Detroit man Friday led to his arrest after Ohio Highway Patrol troopers report they found $50,000 worth of illegal prescription pills in his vehicle when they stopped to help him.

Joaquin Jamal Franklin, 38, is in the Hancock County jail on two counts of possession of drugs, one a first-degree felony the other a second-degree felony, according to the patrol. Troopers reported they seized 3,578 Oxycodone, Lortab, and Xanax pills from a rented compact sport utility vehicle. Troopers stopped to help Mr. Franklin with his disabled vehicle about 9 a.m. near milepost 150 on I-75 southbound, according to the patrol.
