Norwalk ex-teacher pleads not guilty to sex with student

FREMONT -- A former Norwalk High School art teacher charged with having sex with a 17-year-old student pleaded not guilty in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court Thursday.

Alexa Nasonti, 25, of Castalia is charged with one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony, for allegedly having sex with a male student March 31 at a residence in Bellevue. Common Pleas Judge John Dewey released her with the condition she have no contact with the victim.

Ms. Nasonti, a first-year teacher with Norwalk City Schools, resigned in April after she was placed on administrative leave during the investigation, which began when a Castalia police officer came upon a woman and the boy in a car at a local park.
