Auto-parts store robbed in central Toledo, one shot fired

A man fired a handgun today during the robbery of an automotive accessories store in central Toledo, police said.

The suspect obtained an unknown amount of cash from workers at Hot Wheels City, 2929 Monroe St., about 4:20 p.m. and at least one shot was fired, witnesses told police. The gunman fled south of Bancroft Street in the direction of Forest Avenue, dispatchers said. There were no injuries.

Police were still searching for the suspect late this afternoon.
