Marcos Pecina, the man shot in East Toledo Monday night, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, an autopsy showed.
Lucas County Deputy Coroner Dr. Cynthia Beisser said the 29-year-old did not have any other trauma.
The death is being investigated as a homicide.
Pecina, who was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, was at an apartment in the 700 block of Main Street when he was shot about 9:30 p.m.
Police said Mr. Pecina, of Raymer Boulevard, was in the residence when someone fired at least once shortly after 9 p.m., striking the victim. There were no arrests as of late Monday night.
Police have not arrested any suspects.
This is the 14th homicide in the city of Toledo this year.
