Monroe County man injured in two-vehicle crash

BLADE STAFF

IDA, Mich. -- A Monroe County man was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a minivan Saturday night on Secor Road in Ida Township, sheriff's deputies said.

Karen Nusbaum, 45, of Petersburg, Mich. was driving a Chrysler mini-van northbound on Secor at 9:43 p.m., just north of Rauch Road, when she tried to make a left turn into a private driveway and was rear-ended by a Buell motorcycle driven by Tyler Earle, 21, of Whiteford.

Mr. Earle, who was wearing a helmet, was listed in critical condition Sunday morning at Toledo Hospital. Neither Ms. Nusbaum nor her passenger, Kevin Nusbaum, were injured in the crash.

Alcohol is not believed to have been involved, deputies said. The accident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call 734-240-7551.
