Gunman robs Sylvania Ave. dollar store

Toledo police Monday investigated an armed robbery that occurred at a West Toledo store Sunday night.

A man armed with a gun went into a Family Dollar store, 1135 W. Sylvania Ave., at 9:52 p.m., pointed the weapon at a clerk, and demanded cash, police said.

The man ordered the clerk to get money out of the registers, according to police reports, and then fled the store with about $1,400.

The robber is described in a police report as black, in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall, and 200 pounds.
